Two very different shows on either side of the Bay, one presented indoors in June amid glowing jellyfish lanterns by a band that had never played here before, the other bathed in a saturated and patterned light show as offered up by an outfit returning here in April for the first time in more than six years. Both managed to pack their respective venues to capacity with diverse fanbases, and delivered spectacularly memorable performances; Grizzly Bear with some surprising propulsion carrying their psych folk rock melodies, Umphrey’s McGee doing it tight, progressive, and cheeky, sometimes all at once. theritzybor.com, jannuslive.com.
