What the Heart Remembers: The Women and Children of Darfur

This multimedia piece, staged in November 2010 at USF Theatre Two, movingly portrayed the atrocities inflicted on the residents of the Darfur refugee camps. Jeanne Travers and Fanni Green (both USF professors) transformed the challenging subject matter into a vivid portrait. Choreographer Travers’ modern dance conveyed the tumult, chaos — and at times joy — of the refugees, and Green’s direction and heartrending script did the refugees justice. www.arts.usf.edu.
