Best DIY Farming and More

Families and individuals can plant their own veggies at the friendly and homey farm in West Tampa as part of its Community-Supported Agriculture program. Members pay a seasonal fee, entitling them to a share of the weekly harvest. The farm and environmental education on six acres of suburban property along Sweetwater Creek in Tampa is a haven for learning, eating and fun, too, with its Sunday market, annual Planters Ball and Pesto Festo, and weekly workshops on a variety of topics such as identifying the edible weeds in your garden. Note: We said edible, not smokeable. You can learn everything you need to know to get started on your fall organic garden on Sat., Sept. 22, at from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fee is $25. 6942 W. Comanche Ave., Tampa, sweetwater-organic.org.
