Best Fusionists

The Dunedin-based band with a minimalist black-and-white design on its recent CD cover has a sound that’s anything but monotone; shades of funk, jazz, reggae, a touch of Tin Pan Alley, a swish of bossa nova, rockabilly and other sounds from American/international pop music canons make up their huge Crayola box of styles. Sladjan Vidic (bass, drums), Rene Schlegel (vocals and guitar), Dave Gerulat (drums, percussion, backing vocals) and newly official member Mike Ratza (saxophone) know how to get the crowd on their feet and completely engaged, even if you’re not one for jam bands.
