All you need is an open eye and the time it takes to walk from one end of Seventh Avenue to the other to know what the atmosphere is like in each club. The people in line usually give it away. The best thing about Skye is the variety of people. It´s a hip-hop, R&B and reggae club that attracts everyone from college preppies to divas. One block away from the ordinary, Skye is a place where Tampa locals go to party without bumping into a thousand tourists or trudging through vomit and garbage. The three-room arrangement caters to everyone´s tastes. The Star Lounge has an easygoing bar atmosphere, another has a quiet, relaxed outdoor patio area, and the third room has the largest dance floor, two cages, three intimate VIP rooms and five bars. Every night from Wednesday through Saturday there are different themes, each with no shortage of drink specials, like ladies drink free until 1 a.m. The light shows, stylish décor and hot bartenders have kept Club Skye from cooling off since it opened less than a year ago. Cover is usually between $5 and $10 and birthday parties are available.
