Isn't it great that Gayle is fast closing in on 50 and there are no murmurs about how it's time for her to make way for a younger woman? (If there are, the murmurs are very, very faint and very private.) Gayle truly has that essential quality for a news anchor: People are comfortable inviting her into their living rooms. She blends amiability with just the right amount of gravitas. May she anchor well into her 70s.
