WMNF's annual blowout is a long-standing favorite of Planet readers. And why not? Held on a single Saturday night in May, the festival presents an eclectic array of acts performing nonstop, including a bevy of local talent. At Heatwave, you can find music and moods from boisterous to pensive. Most important, you get to see unusual acts that otherwise would probably not perform in this market. We can only assume that Heatwave diehards are also attending the Clearwater Jazz Holiday and Tampa Bay Blues Festival. If not, please do so. And try out BONK while you're at it. Music festivals rule.
