The American citizenry's involvement and interest in politics is perpetually on the wane. It's too complicated, too corrupt, too insider, and, hell, we're powerless anyway. Troxler refuses to accept this in his readers. He breaks down politics in forthright, plainspoken, comprehendible ways. He doesn't soapbox as much as point out hypocrisy, show us how we're getting screwed, show us who's being petty, or upstanding or even heroic. His deep understanding of government allows him to shed new light on issues that seemed cut-and-dried. He makes us care. But have you seen the new photo atop his column? No bow tie? C'mon, guy.
