Last March, hundreds of teenyboppers and actual spring breakers wasted hours of a beautiful spring day watching Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, and Rachel Korine ride scooters down Corey Avenue for the film Spring Breakers. The parents who brought their kids out to catch a glimpse of movie magic must not have been familiar with the previous work of director Harmony Korine. His first screenplay, Kids, and his directorial debut, Gummo, were both rated NC-17. Following suit, Spring Breakers allegedly features plenty of cocaine, shootouts, and sex — all of which would have been more entertaining than watching the actresses drive up and down the block 11 times.
