Despite proclamations that Tampa would “dance on the national stage” during the Republican National Convention in August of 2012, what really put us on the map was the revelation that Jill Kelley was the woman whose emails led to the resignation of then CIA Director David Petraeus in November. Official confirmation that Kelley had made Tampa world-famous was a Saturday Night Live skit mocking CNN, which showed a recurring video clip being discussed by Wolf Blitzer (played by Jason Sudeikis). The skit also featured guest host Jeremy Renner playing "self-declared" Tampa mayor "Derek 'Fat Deuce' Derek," who really knew nothing about the scandal but said about Kelley and Tampa: "Tampa fun. Jill Kelley got a dress. She fun too."
