This joyful co-production of Jobsite Theater and the Straz Center had everything: top Bay area actors reveling in the deliriously silly script, oldies from “Great Balls of Fire” to “Good Vibrations” sung with hyper-sincere enthusiasm, dialogue quoted and misquoted from the works of one William Shakespeare, and all the hoariest tropes from science fiction films inflated and punctured one after the next. Who knew that David Jenkins would direct so stunningly on a large stage, or that Jonathan Harrison, after so many years away, would lead the acting troupe with such professionalism? Add terrific performances by Spencer Meyers and Heather Krueger, and the result was pure bliss, and a perfectly good reason to be alive. jobsitetheater.org
