Not only is he a much-sought-after local luthier, Fil Pate is also one of the busiest (and most humble) musicians in town. The mandolin picker and guitarist regularly performs with Rich Whiteley, Shane Meade and Ramblegrass in full band and reduced lineups, leads his own Friends of Fil project, and habitually sits in with pretty much every local jammy, grassy, rootsy rocking act in town (including Applebutter Express, Brand New Opiates and Free Range Roosters), not to mention touring acts like Grandpa’s Cough Medicine and Bobby Lee Rodgers. To top it all off, he just formed a new outfit called Lemonade with Rodgers, Tom Damon, and Dennis and Kenny Stadelman of COPE. Dude just doesn’t slow down and we are decidedly impressed. facebook.com/Filpate
