Every year since 1990, Creative Loafing (and for a while there, the Weekly Planet) has published its Best of the Bay issue, an annual paean to the Tampa Bay region by CL writers and readers.
BOTB 2013 was a huge success in print and online, and we’re already thinking about BOTB 2014.
But that’s a year away.
Beginning this week, CL introduces Best of the Day — our daily recognition of the great and the not-so-great, of things deserving an immediate shout-out or instant condemnation.
And you can help.
Each day, a CL writer will make his or her pick — could be a must-see show or a must-read quote, a business doing good or a person breaking bad. We’ll post our choice at cltampa.com and tell you about it on Facebook, Twitter et al, where you can cheer it, share it, diss it or, even better, make your own nomination, for that day or future days.
If something gets named Best of the Day, it might go on to win a Best of the Bay, or it might not. This is about what’s happening this day, this instant — from the barista who makes everyone’s morning better to the political snafu so horrific it has to be hollered at, from the amazing TV show we can’t stop watching to the way the sun hits a particular stretch of Bayshore Boulevard.
What’s your Best of the Day today?
