Back in the 1990s, when most of the scene’s focus was on the more straightforward, melodic college rock that filled the Stone Lounge and The Rubb, several Pinellas bands were making much more adventurous noise in smaller rooms. Now, The Boats’ bassist Todd McBride and guitarist George Eckerle are back with keyboardist Mike Todd, drummer Chad Marin and a newly recharged dedication to challenging sonics.
