The mysteriously unique performer strolls around with a lighted keyboard on wheels, sporting various gewgaws, dark sunglasses and a yarmulke. Alien Steve, aka Steve Morris, sings pop tunes with an eerie, deadpan twist, as if by a cabaret singer from Zoltran. What’s inspiring is that he has overcome the challenges of autism and has been playing for tips at Clearwater Beach’s Sunsets at Pier 60 for the past 25 years. So, if you’re going to take a photo with Alien Steve, tip him respectfully and say thank you. Maybe even compliment his trippy sound. Don’t laugh and treat him like the Tosh-wannabe douches on YouTube. They deserve an anal probe.
