BEST PLACE TO CATCH A FLICK ON OPENING NIGHT

Seminole 8 Theaters

At the risk of ruining an as-of-yet-unspoiled haven for a stress-free night out at the movies, here’s a little secret: Regardless of what over-hyped flick is opening, you can avoid long lines, suffocating crowds of adolescents and parking a half-mile from the theater if you go to Seminole 8. Tucked behind the Seminole Mall, this recently re-opened multiplex is quaint, clean and apparently never busy. This summer we’ve seen two opening-night features — Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer and Transformers — and on both evenings the parking lot was only sparsely populated, there was no line to speak of, and we sat dead-center in the theater with an unobstructed view. On one of those nights, it was so slow they sold tickets at the concession stand. How they stay in business is anyone’s guess, so take advantage in the meantime. On second thought, don’t.
