Initially a controversial choice when picked by former Mayor Rick Baker to replace Earnest Williams on City Council in 2008, Nurse has worked his ass off to earn the respect of his constituents in the majority African-American District 6, as evidenced by his taking nearly 70 percent of the primary vote last month.
