For Straz-goers looking to have a pre- (or post-) show snack, the options have been limited to Fly (dependably great food, but a trek); Sono (lovely, but a limited menu except on Friday evenings); and the arts center’s own well-reviewed restaurants. But now there are several new spots to choose from, many of them popping up along with the area’s high-rises, and none is more spot-on than Anise. Addictive Asian-inflected “bunz” and noodles, delicious specials (a pork loin a few nights ago was stellar), expertly crafted cocktails, and charming, time-attentive servers make this the perfect place to stop for a light dinner before Jobsite or for a nightcap after The Book of Mormon.
