The recycling coordinator for the City of Largo, Segundo is a telegenic, PR-savvy champion of the three R’s (Recycle, Reduce, Reuse) who has done particularly well in getting buy-in for Largo’s recycling program from the community. She expanded the city’s Green Team to include volunteers, worked to incorporate recycling in city parks, and even introduced a “Largo Recycles” vanity license plate. It’s all part of LarGoing Green, an impressive citywide program that helped Largo become one of the 47 state municipalities to be certified a Green City by the Florida Green Building Coalition.
