Amidst the vast wasteland of banal morning talk radio, The Ron and Ian Show stands out like a shimmering oasis. The duo has an easygoing rapport, and they eschew corny catchphrases and tired gimmicks for genuinely interesting conversation and occasionally raunchy commentary about what’s going on in the sports world, though they will discuss just about anything that’s topical or strikes their fancy. While Diaz can come off as an ass (and spout his arch-conservative viewpoints), he’s also frequently funny. Beckles, a former offensive lineman for Bucs, has a quick wit and serves up insightful commentary, especially when it comes to inside-football stuff.
