The Hip Abduction at State Theatre

It’s no mean feat to sell out the State Theatre on a Friday night. Tampa Bay’s own Hip Abduction not only managed it, but did so prior to even releasing their new album. In fact, the funk-pulsing worldbeat ensemble had just returned from recording in Atlanta when they hit the stage, rarin’ to go with fresh energy and warm, bright sounds that engulfed the room. The fans who crammed into the place definitely felt the posi vibes, and showed their appreciation in full-scale dancing throughout the more than 90-minute performance. thehipabduction.com
