Democrat Alex Sink is going for the jugular in her battle against Rick Scott. The gubernatorial candidate has called for a news conference this morning where she will unveil a virtually unheard of two-minute ad blasting Rick Scott. It comes after her fiery performance in the first political debate of the season between the two, which we watched and have just written about.
Meanwhile, yesterday, the largest gathering of local political candidates running in Tampa Bay next month gathered under one roof for the United Voices political forum. Our Justin Pugh was there, and reports on how Charlie Crist sucked up all the oxygen with the independent Senate candidate made an appearance last night.
The transit tax in Hillsborough County is one of the biggest issues effecting the entire Tampa Bay area that only Hillsborough voters will decide in three weeks. Over the weekend, supporters of the initiative got a boost when a new poll came out showing the measure winning, though a solid 10% of the electorate is undecided.
