30 Minneapolis-based bar balladeers The Hold Steady — best known locally for mentioning Ybor City in a few of their songs — performs at Orpheum tonight with The Big Sleep and Nessie. 9 p.m., Ybor City.

01 Opera and Shakespeare. If neither makes you snore, Opera Tampa debuts a limited engagement production of Charles Gounod's Romeo and Juliet at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center tonight. 8 p.m., 813-229-7827.

02 Support the Bay area's nonprofit community radio station at the WMNF Ninth Annual Book and Record Bazaar. The rummage sale — which traditionally features thousands of LPs, CDs, tapes, books and audio equipment — has expanded to include antiques, collectibles and a selection of works by 18 local artists. 10 a.m.-5 p.m., The Cuban Club.

03 St. Petersburg Museum of History hosts A December to Remember at Ingleside, a fundraising tour of 13 historic, restored homes located in South St. Petersburg's Ingleside Neighborhood. 6-9 p.m. 727-894-1052.

04 North versus South: The Philadelphia Eagles take on the Carolina Panthers. Find out whether or not the Eagles' home game advantage will be cancelled out by the absence of McNabb. 8:30 p.m., ESPN.

05 HCC-Ybor School of Visual and Performing Arts hosts a concert by Fanfare Concert Winds, a 40-plus, mostly-volunteer band made up of local amateur and professional musicians and music students. 7:30 p.m., Ybor City, 813-973-0528.
