5 The Tampa International Gay & Lesbian Film Festival kicks off with a street party celebration in front of Tampa Theatre, which is followed by a screening of Queens (Reinas); see this week's Cover Story for additional info. 6 p.m., 813-274-8286.

6 In conjunction with its current exhibit, Weird and Wonderful: Graphics by Leonard Baskin, Leepa-Rattner Museum of Art presents LITERARY Voices/MUSICAL Words, a musical tribute to Baskin by musical trio Two T's & a Cup of Joe. 7 p.m., LRMA-Palm Harbor.

7 M.A.D. Theatre of Tampa's mixed-abilities dance company, Asher Dance Eclectic, offers two workshop classes at 10 and 11 a.m.; later, at 7:30 p.m., the company produces a special Saturday night gala performance of its latest show, Fusion, to commemorate VSA Arts of Florida's 25th anniversary. 8 Tourgasm (featuring comedians Gary Gulman, Robert Kelly and Jay Davis) stops at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. 8 p.m., Ferguson Hall.

9 Environmental photojournalist Carlton Ward Jr. talks about his work to promote the conservation of natural environments and cultural legacies. 7 p.m., The Arts Center, St. Petersburg.

10 Two big DVD releases today: Robert Altman's A Prairie Home Companion and The White Stripes' rock-umentary, Rhinoceros.

11 The Fresh Market opens at Dale Mabry and Henderson, the specialty supermarket chain's third area location. Will shoppers who have already sown their (Wild) Oats still want to get Fresh?
