I currently need a little bit of work to get in tip top shape, but the adoption counselor will go over my medical needs with you. Come on down to HSTB and come meet me and adopt me today!" - HUMANESOCIETYTAMPA.ORG

Earlier this week, Chiefs defensive lineman Derrick Nnadi covered the adoption fees of 91 dogs from a Kansas City animal shelter. Wanting to jump on the bandwagon, Coors Light upped the ante by offering to cover dog adoption fees across the nation for three weeks, kicking off February 4 and finishing up on February 21.

Over the next few weeks locals can head to their nearest shelters to adopt a pup in need— sorry this promotion only applies for dog people.

Coors Light will reimburse $100 worth of adoption fees, which means depending on the shelter, locals could be reimbursed for part or all of adoption fees. For example, at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay, puppies (3 months and under) are $225, adult dogs (over 3 months-8 years old) are $99 and seniors are $50. At the Pet Pal Animal Shelter in St. Pete the adoption fee for dogs is $200, unless part of the Pit Project. While it is kind to want to snatch up two for one, Coors Light will only cover one pup.

Before you run off to your nearest shelter to find your forever friend, there are some rules you should keep in mind. You must pay for the adoption first, and to be reimbursed, adopters must text COORS4k9 to 28130 along with a photo of your adoption receipt.

The photo must display:

  • Adoption receipt showing
  • Adoption cost Name of shelter
  • Adoption location/state
  • Date of adoption (Adoption must occur between Feb. 4, 2020 and Feb. 21, 2020)
  • Animal type (Offer only valid for dog adoption)

By the way, there is no beer purchased is required for your adoption fees to be reimbursed, but you might want to grab a case in celebration. Visit coorslight.com, for the list of official rules.

Just a heads up, this offer is only valid to legal residents of the United States who are at least 21 years old. If you want to spend a little quality time for your prospective four-legged new best friend, you can slide to the Valentine's Day event at the Humane Society of Tampa Bay from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. to have a glass of wine, pizza and snacks on the house while you get more acquainted.
