Creative Loafing Tampa Bay (CL) is looking for a full-time staff writer to join its newsroom.
The ideal candidate has an affection for the community they live in and finding, then telling, offbeat, often overlooked, stories about their neighbors—especially the most vulnerable. They also have experience with public records requests and the desire to form and maintain relationships with both community members and local officials.
The candidate understands an alt-weekly’s role in a market with one historically predominant daily and can write across a wide spectrum of topics, especially news. They’ll join a staff that blogs daily and understands that much of their work will be adapted and expanded for a physical edition of the publication that hits stands every Thursday.
CL runs a casual dress newsroom (and event space) located in historic Tampa Heights. Euclid Media Group, parent company of CL, offers competitive compensation packages, as well as Medical, Dental and Vision benefits for full-time employees and a 401(k) with company match.
Interested candidates should send a resume and clips to [email protected]. — thanks
UPDATED: 05/05/21 9:40 a.m. Updated because there is a dress code at CL (but if you've seen us, then you know it's loose) and make clear our parent company's 401K match.
