The Russian National Ballet Theatre and Orchestra brings ballet's greatest tragedy, Swan Lake, to Ruth Eckerd Hall this Saturday night. More than 40 dancers and soloists perform the heartbreaking tale of Princess Odette and Prince Siegfried, young lovers who fall in love under the pale moonlight but are thwarted by the evil sorcerer von Rothbart. See, he's cast a spell on Odette — by day, she inhabits the body of a graceful swan; by night, she returns to her beautiful maiden form and joins a flock of other enchanted swan-maidens who live on Swan Lake, which was formed by the tears of Odette's parents when she was kidnapped by the sorcerer. A declaration of true love can break the spell once and for all, but von Rothbart is neither ready nor willing to surrender his feathered trophy. Sat., April 12, 8 p.m., 1111 McMullen-Booth Road, Clearwater, $35-$45, 727-791-7400, rutheckerdhall.com.
