Dance: The Best of Momix

Saturday, March 1

They are physically adept and completely in touch with each other. Using their bodies as vessels of expression, they create dreamlike imagery with an array of props and clever use of light and shadow. They are the contortionists, illusionists and dancers of MOMIX, and they're bringing a program of their best-known and most innovative works to Tampa for area folks to see and enjoy and be in awe of.

A founding member of Pilobolus Dance Theater — that other artful dance company — MOMIX artistic director/modern dance pioneer Moses Pendleton left Pilobolus in the early '80s to do his own thing and has used MOMIX as means to share the fruits of his innovative imagination for nearly 25 years. The current MOMIX tour features dance pieces from a variety of MOMIX programs, among them, Opus, Cactus, Orbit, Passion and Lunar Sea. The Best of MOMIX, Sat., March 1, 7:30 p.m., Ferguson Hall-TBPAC, 1010 N. MacInnes Place, downtown Tampa, $25.50-$49.50, 813-229-7827, tbpac.org.
