Dear Trump voters,
Well, hope you’re happy.
Really. I do.
I sincerely hope that the lying, loose-lipped, misogynist, bigoted, ignorant, impulsive, vengeful candidate we all saw in the campaign — you saw him, too, you have to admit — isn’t the real Donald Trump.
I want to believe (as you apparently, incredibly do) that the real Donald Trump will show himself when he becomes president -- that he’ll be more unifying, more circumspect, more of a grownup than he has ever demonstrated previously.
If not, we’re all fucked.
You included.
Maybe even especially you.
Because every economic forecast (and you see the markets collapsing at the thought of a Trump presidency, don’t you?) says that the candidate who would have done better by working-class citizens was Clinton — that Trump will cut taxes on the wealthiest, which would do you no good at all, but would help him win favors with his wealthy cronies.
That is, if he has cronies. The man you’ve elected is a lonely demagogue, interested only in himself.
But hey, maybe he’ll undergo some miraculous transformation when he gets into office.
