Do It Today: Toots, Gavin, Patty and the Bachelorette

This evening, the Studio@620 stages the area premiere of Toots, Kristi Jacobson's documentary film that looks at the life and times of infamous Manhattan saloonkeeper Toots Shor (pictured), proprietor of Toots Shor's Restaurant for more than 30 years, from the 1940s to the 1970s, and a self-made man who welcomed all manner of clientele into his establishment, and served as loyal friend and confidante and good-natured insulter to various politicians, gangsters, sports heroes and movie stars ranging from Frank Sinatra to Joe Dimaggio to Chief Justice Earl Warren. Jacobson gives a talk and Q&A following the screening. 7:30 p.m., The Studio@620, 620 First St. Petersburg, $5.
