Hereâs a Music Week entry that somehow got accidentally excised from this weekâs print version of Creative Loafing. Written by Eric Snider:
SATURDAY, APRIL 21
SUSAN TEDESCHI/LITTLE FEAT The folks who book Jannus Landing slipped this gem of a show â featuring two legitimate headliners â under the wire at the last minute. We should reward their risk-taking by showing the hell up. Tedeschi started out as an urbane blues singer, but has since broadened her style and factored in pop/R&B in the Bonnie Raitt mode. Her singing has become increasingly soulful and mature over the years, and sheâs a more than able guitarist. Little Feat, one of the great idiosyncratic bands of the â70s, has become a fixture on the jam-band scene, laying out a sublime mixture of cool tunes, hip arrangements and righteous improvisation.
