Don't miss Tedeschi/Little Feat

Here’s a Music Week entry that somehow got accidentally excised from this week’s print version of Creative Loafing. Written by Eric Snider:

SATURDAY, APRIL 21

SUSAN TEDESCHI/LITTLE FEAT The folks who book Jannus Landing slipped this gem of a show — featuring two legitimate headliners — under the wire at the last minute. We should reward their risk-taking by showing the hell up. Tedeschi started out as an urbane blues singer, but has since broadened her style and factored in pop/R&B in the Bonnie Raitt mode. Her singing has become increasingly soulful and mature over the years, and she’s a more than able guitarist. Little Feat, one of the great idiosyncratic bands of the ’70s, has become a fixture on the jam-band scene, laying out a sublime mixture of cool tunes, hip arrangements and righteous improvisation. (Jannus Landing, St. Petersburg)

CALLING ALL JAZZHEADS: THE DON SCALETTA TRIO will perform in concert at The Gorilla Theatre, 4419 N. Hubert  Avenue (Drew Park), on Sunday, April 22, at 3:00pm, presented by the Tampa Jazz Club.
