“I woke up after a dream about manjushri. I only remember that I awoke not happy he carries a big sword.”

First I’d like to enlighten the readers as to what and who Manjushri is so my interpretation makes sense.

Manjusri is seen as an emanating enlightened being in the Buddhist tradition. He is associated with wisdom, doctrine, and awareness. He is also the meditation deity who embodies enlightened wisdom.

I’d like to assure you that every hero (and Manjushri IS a hero) has a sword. Think about Arthur, Beowulf, Galahad, Odin, Sigmund, etc; the list goes on and on. More to your liking may be the fact that the sword is also the weapon of the Supreme Deity and represents, in that capacity, the connection between heaven and earth. Is Manjushri your supreme deity? Interestingly, in symbolic terms, the sword cuts both ways which (now follow carefully) may be related to the heaven and earth quality it possesses.

Now your dream figure carries a BIG sword and you are not happy about that. A possible psychological reason could be guilt for being naughty, or fear for not being a good Buddhist. Dream Momma wonders if you’re conflicted between heaven (your spiritual life) and earth (your physical needs). It might make you happy to learn we all are conflicted between those two things. It’s part of the human condition.

To get back in Manjushri good graces Dream Momma suggests you chant the following Buddhist chant ten times, three times a day for a week. Then re-envision the sword cutting the other way and give yourself a break.

Chant: Om A Ra Pa Cha Na Dh?h
