since the dream belongs to the dreamer what else might be going on? Only you know for sure but DM can guesstimate based on oodles of experience.
You want all of the above. Adventure, romance, glamor, etc., but somehow something in your psyche drowns your desires. Being below deck could mean (and I speculate here) low self-esteem which would lead to self-sabotage when good things come your way. It is a fact that more people fear success than failure, so beware.
The lido deck could be a variant of the Leda myth who, when fertilized by a god in the form of a bird (usually a swan), inaugurates a new era. The dream may be telling you its time for a change, a new you. Once again, speculation, but why not? Thats what dreams do, they provoke speculation.
Buffet lines on ships are notorious for their copious displays of food. A never-ending banquet that accounts for at least five to 10 added pounds on the average cruisers scale. But wait, this is symbolic. So the buffet line is a symbol of entitlement and gorging. Those two things are known to sink a few unaware souls who still believe in free lunches. No wonder you're sinking!
Now its time to get you afloat. First, let go of the fantasies that set you up for failure. Next, think about a new attitude, some paradigm shift that honors who you are as a real person deserving of a place in life. Now, go find that place and thrive there. Then one day, take a real luxury cruise. You will have earned it.
