The East Lake Community Library could be shrinking its hours if the county can’t find any more money.

At Tuesday’s county commission meeting, Patricia Perez, director of the East Lake Community Library, addressed a balanced budget for next year and how she plans to rebuild the reserve fund depleted by the library’s recent constructions.

Perez offered cutting the library’s hours from 53 to 47 each week. Her suggested schedule would have the library open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
