After the departure of longtime drummer Sam Altman and a brief hiatus that included a lengthy audition process, The Disco Biscuits returned this past New Year's with fresh-faced drummer Allen Aucoin. Bisco (as they're affectionately referred to by their fans) are generally considered to be leaders of the jam trance movement, drawing from the jam-band formula of exploratory chord and tempo changes, and the pulsating rhythms of dance/electronica. They're performing in St. Pete with Brothers Past, another "livetronica" band that melds drum-and-bass with a pop sensibility. Both head to Ft. Lauderdale following the show for Langerado, a music fest featuring headliners like The Flaming Lips, Ben Harper and the Innocent Criminals, and Wilco. March 9, 8 p.m., The Bank, 1919 Central Ave. N., St. Petersburg, $25 ($5 additional ages 18-20), 727-898-4488, www.atthebank.com.
