Early Tuesday evening, the Florida Senate rejected Charlie Crist's two appointees to the Public Service Commission, in what clearly is a rebuke of the governor personally just days before he decides on whether or not to leave the party.

David Klement of Bradenton lost on a 21-17 vote, while Benjamin Stevens of Pensacola fell on a 23-14 vote.

Last week in a committee hearing, both commissioners were criticized for a lack of knowledge in business administration.  Klement was a long time editorial writer with the Bradenton Herald -32 years to be precise.  Stevens pedigree was perhaps a bigger reach on the PSC, working as an accountant and as the co-owner of a nightclub.
