Mozie's wife, Laschell "Shelly" Harris, 38, was sentenced to thirteen years in federal prison for her involvement. Witnesses claim she served as a kind of "house mom," and she also admitted to watching Mozie have sex with the girls.
In all Mozie recruited eight girls between 13 to 17, many of whom testified against him. They claimed Mozie and his wife targeted them on the street by promising to get them work as models and dancers. Mozie had these girls complete applications regarding which sex acts they would perform. He then had sex with them in a process he called, "orientation," or "testing the merchandise."
Mozie turned on a green light on his porch and sent out text messages to clients when the brothel was open. The girls danced for customers in the living room. Men paid $50 to take girls into a private area dubbed the Boom Boom Room. One of the girls ran away from home to work for Mozie. She described earning around $270 in one night after having sex with four men, including Mozie.
The brothel was shut down after the business owners on Mozie's street gathered a petition against him. Mozie has prior convictions for armed robbery, possession of a gun by a felon, and drug charges.
