A profusion of crafters from across the state reflect on the creative components that characterize a Florida lifestyle in Florida Craftsmen Gallery's Architectural Details and Other Decorative Crafts. Curated by Florida State University artist/Master Craftsman Program Director Bob Bischoff, the new exhibition spotlights all manner of works, from a surfer mosaic produced as part of a Florida pool to decorative stair railings to hand-carved furniture and art deco doors. Among the 30 participating artists are Mark Aeling of MGA Sculpture Studio, Richard Chill Cott and Diego Duran of the Chill Cott Group, Robert Epstein, Dale Lappe, Alton Isings of MiamiModern, Patricia Lester, Duncan McClellan, Terry Reeb of Hardwood Specialists, William Stack, Bart Tennant and Catherine Woods of C Glass Studio.

An opening reception with several of the artists is held from 6 to 8 p.m. Fri., Sept. 19. A panel discussion, "Redefining the Business of Craft," takes place the following day with Cott, Stack, and Woods.

Architectural Details and Other Decorative Crafts, Sept. 19-Oct. 31, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Tues.-Sat., 501 Central Ave., St. Petersburg, 727-821-7391, free admission, floridacraftsmen.net.
