Sen. Stan McClain, R-Ocala, this week filed a repeal bill (SB 1234), after Rep. Toby Overdorf, R-Palm City, filed an identical measure (HB 6013) last month.
Lawmakers included the ban in a law that passed after the February 2018 mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland that killed 17 people.
The U.S. Supreme Court last year struck down a federal rule that banned bump stocks. The bills are filed for consideration during the legislative session that will start Tuesday.
