This Friday, the nearly 50-year-old Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company brings an artistic glimpse of Southeast Asia to Bay area audiences. (The word "bayanihan" comes from an ancient Filipino tradition that signifies working together for the common good.) The program of folk dance and live music is marked by vibrant costumes and graceful movement, and inspired by the diverse indigenous Chinese, Spanish and Islamic influences that have helped shape Filipino culture. The company also offers a special pre-show master dance class to the public (ages 6 and up). Fri., Nov. 24, 3:30-5 p.m. class ($5), 7:30 p.m. performance ($20), Ferguson Hall-Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center, 1010 N. MacInnes Place, Tampa, 813-229-7827, www.tbpac.org.
