9:15 Did Chuck Grassley just slump over and wake himself up?

9:15 p.m. You gotta love Barbara Mikulski, resplendent in red tonight.

Any member of Congress not stood for the president during these intros?

OK boys, what about adding to the game..............starting a sentence with the words look or listen, using the phrase saved or created and green jobs? Uttering the words freeze on spending is grounds for a double!

9:01 Michelle Bachman getting some facetime in.  I'm pleased that Arlen Specter apologized to her the other day.

8:59 p.m. I was just reading about New York Democratic Representative Elliot Engel got to the House before 8 a.m. so that he can be one of the first guys to get on TV shaking hands.  There he is glad-handling Gary Locke.

8:55 p.m. Well good evening.  Is there anyone out there?  Welcome to the 2010 State of the Union address on the Daily Loaf.   As I watch the members of Congress make their way into House Chamber and fawn over each other, I'm thinking: I'm glad they're so fond of each other tonight.  Damn the negative polls that show Democrats and Republicans ranking lower than the Tea Party movement.

This reporter will be blogging live throughout President Obama's first State of the Union address scheduled for 9 p.m. this evening at this site.

We've been informed that the MoveOn.org crowd as well as some local environmentalists will be attending a SOTU party tonight here in Ybor City.  That's at Jax Grill at Gameworks, 1600 East 8th Avenue in Tampa.  But if you'll be on your computer tonight (with or without a TV or radio on), come by and please make comments in our comments section listed below as we try to keep it interesting.

10:20 p.m. - "I don't quit."  No he doesn't, but I am at this point.  Gotta get the beauty sleep to see Barack in person tomorrow.

Enjoy Bob McConnell.  And thanks for participating.  We're out.

10:18 p.m. - Here's the inspirational tone of the address.  The best part of the speech.
