Popular travel website TripAdvisor just released its annual ranking of America’s best patches of wet sand in 2022, and four Tampa Bay area beaches made the cut.
The "Best of The Best Beaches" list, which was based on the overall quantity and quality of the site's reviews over the last 12 months, listed Siesta Beach as No. 2 in the country and No. 14 in the world.
The top beach in the U.S. went to Hawaii's Hapuna Beach State Recreation Area ,while the worlds best crown went to Grace Bay Beach in Grace Bay, Turks and Caicos.
While a few notable Tampa Bay beaches didn't make the global ranking, they did rank within the top 25 in the country, and all three where in Pinellas County. Treasure Island Beach landed at No. 19, Clearwater Beach ranked at No. 24, and surprisingly St. Pete Beach dropped from last year's No. 1 spot all the way down to No. 22.
Overall nine Florida beaches landed in the top 25, including Pensacola Beach (No. 11), Henderson Beach State Park (No. 12), St. Augustine Beach (No. 14), Fort Lauderdale Beach (No. 18), Panama City Beach (No. 21).
