The Ybor City Fresh Market and the quarterly Main Street Arts & Crafts Show have collaborated to put on a joint festival, taking place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25 and 26, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days, in Centennial Park.
The open-air shelters of the market are erected every Saturday morning in the East end of Centennial Park and offer everything under the sun — entertainment, demonstrations, fresh foods, a variety of flowers and plants and much more — so it makes perfect sense that the two events commingle.
The arts and crafts displays are to line the park, for visitors strolling the sidewalk on the park's perimeter. In addition, a cool treats court will be set up to help visitors manage the Florida heat.
The Ybor City Fresh Market serves as a year-round resource and catalyst for improving the accessibility of affordable, regionally grown produce, arts and crafts, prepared foods and other locally produced products. Visitors can enjoy a cup of cafe con leche while listening to a local music act, and enjoy the beautiful Florida weather while shopping for fruits and vegetables.
Market vendors include: Armand Massage Therapy ($1 seated chair massage); Johnny's Fresh Baked Goods, Hall's Fresh Cut Flowers, Ybor Tabacalera (cigars), Sudsa Nursery, Milagro Herbs and Jordan Farms (organic produce).
The festival takes place rain or shine, with free admission and free parking. Centennial Park is at Eighth Avenue and 18th Street, Ybor City (813-241-2442).
