Florida became a slightly safer place last night when George Zimmerman was placed back behind bars for a gun related incident.

Zimmerman's girlfriend, who The Orlando Sentinel named as 27-year-old Samantha Scheibe, called 911 Monday after a verbal altercation escalated. Scheibe claims Zimmerman began smashing things in her house with the barrel of his shotgun after she told him to leave. When she threatened to call the police, Zimmerman allegedly pointed the shotgun at her, then pushed her out of the house and barricaded himself inside.

The domestic violence arrest is classified as a felony. According to The Seminole County Sheriff's website, Zimmerman is not eligible for bail.

Zimmerman has had a number of run-ins with the law since being acquitted of Trayvon Martin's murder in July. After his wife, Shellie Zimmerman, filed for divorce in August, she accused him of threatening her with a firearm in September, though that domestic dispute didn't result in an arrest.
