Grab a bite to eat or a few drinks while catching a fabulous drag show at Hamburger Mary's throughout the day on Thursday for a good cause. The restaurant will graciously donate 50 percent of the day's sales to Metro Wellness & Community Centers.
Celebrate the holidays with St. Pete Pride on Friday, Nov. 30 at the group's annual Red & Green gathering at the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg. Halcyon and other bands will provide live entertainment. There will also be food, an open bar, valet parking and private access to the botanical gardens. Tickets are $35 per person.
Catch "RuPaul's Drag Race" star Manila Luzon performing at Georgie's Alibi in St. Petersburg Friday night. The free show starts at 10 p.m. and is followed by a meet and greet.
Saturday, Dec. 1 is World AIDS Day and several organizations have planned local events to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS.
Metro Wellness & Community Centers hosts Rock AIDS from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lowry Park Band Shell in Tampa. The event will feature live music performed by local bands, including John Q, Roundhouse Social, Donni Bennett Band and Talk to Mark Band. There will be a food truck rally, beer garden, vendors, health-related booths, a children’s activity area, free HIV testing, raffles and more. The suggested donation for this family-friendly event is $10 and benefits Metro Wellness.
The Tampa Bay Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence will host One World, A Day of Remembrance that same day at Kiley Park in downtown Tampa from 12 to 4 p.m. Joy Winheim from Francis House will be speaking and The Sisters will be offering lemonade courtesy of BJ'S Brewhouse for donations. All donations will benefit Francis House.
Saturday night head to Honey Pot's Tease Saturdays in Ybor for a "Bad Girls Club" reunion and meet and greet with your favorite stars from the show.
If you're on the other side of the bridge, Flamingo Resort in St. Pete is hosting its Miss Flamingo 2013 competition that night as well.
And Madame JiJi does Christmas like nobody can with her Crazy Christmas Cabaret, two evenings of burlesque at the L Train on Friday and Saturday nights. Tickets are $12 in advance and $15 the day of the show. Doors open at 8 p.m.
