If you didnât catch this weekâs Urban Explorer about Mogtaba Maki, you can catch it here.
Maki, who entered the United States in 2001 as a refugee, fled Sudan after the government conscripted him into the countryâs bloody civil war. His father and three sisters joined him two years ago, but his mother and two other siblings remain in an Egyptian refugee camp.
After reading the piece, head on over to African Night at the University of South Florida tomorrow, April 14. Presented by the African Students Association, there will be food, dancing, poetry and good company. And you can meet Maki. It begins at 7 p.m on the Marshall Centerâs second-floor ballroom.
