Gott Glass

Art Friday, November 23

If you're a fan of glass art and want to see the pros creatively blow and sculpt molten glass in a dazzling display of fire, light and sound, we suggest dropping by the Holiday Glass Show. This annual open house — hosted by Susan Gott at her Seminole Heights work and show space, Phoenix Glass Studio and Gallery — features a new body of glass work by Gott dubbed "The Family," which examines relationship icons via contemporary figurative and abstract glass sculptures. Also on display is Gott's new installation of cast glass wall sculptures that investigate the spirit. The show opens this Friday, with the opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. to feature a 7:30 p.m. "Casting with Glass" performance by Gott and her team of glass artists; glass blowing demos continue throughout the weekend. Nov. 23-25, 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Fri., 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sat.-Sun., 811 E. Knollwood St., Tampa, free admission, 813-237-FIRE, gottglass.com.
