Green beauty products: How to know if they're the real deal

It takes a little effort to make sure you are getting the best eco-friendly product, but just as you have to read the labels in the food that you buy, it is equally important to know what kind of ingredients you're putting on your body.

When you go to your local pharmacy and see an array of beauty products, soaps and other toiletries labeled as 'green', it might be hard to determine which ones are legitimately organic or natural products and which ones might be exploiting their green efforts.

According to Women's Health Magazine, most beauty products  that are legitimate green products should be produced with minimal energy, derived from renewable materials, and be a plant-based product.

The best thing to do to weed out these possible exploiters is to carefully read the ingredient label and also see if it has been stamped by a logo certifying its green status.
