St. Pete Saturday Morning Market- Every Saturday; 9 am to 2 pm. Downtown St. Petersburg in the Al Lang Stadium parking lot / 1st Ave. S and 1st St. Open October 3 through May 29.


Guided Hike at Weedon Island Preserve- Every Saturday; 9-11 am. Guided hikes through coastal mangrove and upland ecosystems of the Preserve are held on most Saturdays of the month. Join us to learn about the coastal environment and the early residents of Weedon Island Preserve. Be sure to bring water and a snack for this 2-hour hike. A hat and closed-toe shoes are also recommended. Reserve your space by 2 pm on the Friday prior to the tour of choice. This event is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is required. Guided Hike at Brooker Creek Preserve- Every Saturday; 9-11 am. Take a walk through time each Saturday morning on a guided hike along the Education Center Trail. Join us for this 0.75 mile walk as we look at how the land has changed over time and discuss the ecological footprints left by those changes. Sturdy closed-toe shoes are a must, and water and a hat are recommended. Pre-registration is required by 12:00 noon on the Friday before the hike. Admission: Free. Sweetwater Organic Community Farm's 7th Annual Planter's Ball- Saturday, October 17; 5:30-10:30 pm. Gateway Organic Farm Dinner- Sunday, October 18; 4 pm. Some of the Bay Area's most well-known chefs — Tyson Grant of Parkshore Grill in St. Pete, Matt Tracy from the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, and Chris Knowles from Sea Sea Riders, to name a few— create a six-course charity dinner with food taken straight from the Clearwater farm and from other local producers. The chefs prepare and serve fresh organic vegetables, along with local and organic meat, fish, and wines in the Gateway Organic Farm garden. The chefs request that all attendees "Please bring your favorite dinner plate to add to the conversation as you dine with local farmers, artisan, and chefs." A pre-dinner reception includes hors d'oeuvres, wine and a farm tour. North Shore Clearwater Beach Cleanup- Saturday, October 17; 9 am. The SPC Environmental Club and the EGB adopted a mile of beach (Lot 36) on North Shore Clearwater Beach, running from Rockaway St. to 880 Mandalay. We have scheduled our next beach cleanup Saturday, October 17, starting at 9 am. We will be meeting on the beach at Rockaway Street, right in front of Frenchy’s restaurant. Bags and gloves will be provided, but please remember to wear a hat, sunscreen, closed toed shoes and pants for the dunes, etc. Spend a few hours picking up garbage and the rest relaxing on a clean beach.You can park in the public beach parking or go past Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill and find residential parking further down the road then just walk back.
