
In the wake of the upset victory in the New York District 26 Congressional election Tuesday night by Democrat Kathy Hochul, there is no question that the very young Paul Ryan led plan to dismantle Medicare is the political issue of the spring of 2011.
Democrats have rejoiced over the election, while some Republicans are rejecting the notion that the loss had anything to do with Republican Jane Corwin's initial support for the Ryan plan had anything to do with her defeat.
As we blogged about earlier on Wednesday, Florida GOP Senate—wannabe George LeMieux was in that latter camp, never even mentioning the word "Medicare" in using the loss as an opportunity fundraiser.
But one of LeMieux's GOP challengers for the U.S. Senate nomination in 2012, Adam Hasner, is fearlessly walking straight on into the engulfing inferno that is the Ryan plan, and coming out for it stronger than ever.
